About PILA Grants
The Public Interest Law Association (PILA) is a UVA School of Law student organization that supports and promotes public interest law. Through the PILA Grant program, PILA and the Public Service Center partner to fund students who will work in qualifying public service and judicial positions during the summer. Funding comes from student fundraising efforts, faculty, alumni, and community donors.
In order to receive a grant, applicants must complete a certain amount of pro bono hours and obtain a qualifying public service or judicial summer internship. All students who meet the requirements for receiving a grant, as explained in our application, will receive one. Applications will be due by February 12, 2021. This year's application will be made available in January 2021.
