How can lawyers advocate to ensure that everyone has access to the law? How can lawyers become makers of social change? How can lawyers shape justice?
Shaping Justice is an annual conference of students, attorneys, and advocates dedicated to transforming the law in order to advance justice. The second annual Shaping Justice conference, titled "Shaping Justice in an Age of Uncertainty," will take place February 2-3, 2018 at the University of Virginia School of Law. This year's conference will feature keynote speaker Kristen Clarke, President and Executive Director of the Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights Under Law, a national nonprofit organization aimed at securing equal justice for all through the rule of law. Other events include panels and workshops, as well as networking opportunities and an awards lunch honoring UVA Law alumni who have dedicated their careers to shaping justice.
