PILA Spring Service Day Saturday, February 9th 10:00am to 1:00pm Click here to sign up Ronald McDonald House Charity of Charlottesville The Ronald McDonald House Charity of Charlottesville (RMHC-C) provides love and support to families during times of crisis. Many families travel far from home to get treatment for their seriously ill or injured children. RMHC-C offers them a way to stay together and in proximity to the University of Virginia Children’s Hospital. Families are only asked to make a $15 donation for their stay, and no family is ever turned away for their inability to pay. In order to meet the growing needs of children and their families, RMHC-C relies on the hard work and dedication of its volunteers. Volunteer projects will include on-site cleanup, yard work, and Wishlist Drives at stores throughout the Charlottesville area. Charlottesville-Albemarle SPCA The Charlottesville-Albemarle SPCA is a nonprofit animal welfare organization that provides a safe environment for the lost, abandoned, and homeless animals of Charlottesville and Albemarle County and places them in good homes. They strive to set a standard of excellence and leadership in animal care, humane education, and progressive animal welfare programs. Volunteers play a vital role in achieving the "no kill" mission of the shelter, and hundreds of volunteers donate more than 20,000 hours of service each year. Volunteer projects will include trail maintenance, landscaping, painting, and beautification of the shelter. PILA is currently collecting books for next semester's booksale. There is a blue bin on a table in Hunton Williams hallway. Please feel free to drop off your used books anytime over the finals period! 2012 PILA Auction
Last Call for Donations! The PILA Auction Deadline is rapidly approaching! The annual PILA Auction will be held on Saturday, November 10th at the Omni Hotel. The PILA Board has been hard at work planning the event by securing donations for students to bid on at the Auction. Proceeds from the Auction will help PILA provide funding for law students engaged in public interest work this summer. Thanks to your generosity, last summer a record number of students received PILA grants. In the past, one of the keys to the PILA Auction’s success has been the generous donations from the law school students. If you’ve donated in the past, we’d love for you to do the same this year. If you’ve never donated, please consider making a donation this year. To donate, please fill out the attached contract of donation. If you would like to donate more than one gift, blank contracts of donation can be found on the PILA bulletin board in Hunton & Williams Hall. Completed contracts may be returned in one of two ways: email them to [email protected] by Wednesday, October 31st, or email them to Julianne Jaquith at [email protected]. You may also contact Julianne if you have any questions about the auction or about making a donation. Thank you for supporting PILA! Link to Contract 2012 PILA Auction
